Farm Visit Friday: Bryant Farm offers locally grown produce
posted by SPD Communications on August 19, 2014 in Farm VisitLast season, as part of our #farmvisitfriday, we visited Bryant Farm in Ellettsville to see what they grow on their farm and bring to you at the Statehouse Market.
What started as a large family garden some years ago is now an 11-acre farm that’s getting bigger each season at Bryant Farm in Ellettsville. The farm is owned and operated by Rex and Kim Bryant and is almost completely family-run, with help from the three Bryant daughters and intern Sasha. Kim walked us around the 11 acres of land that grows everything from cabbage (pictured above) to green beans, with each vegetable started at the farm from seed. As you’ll see in the photos below, Bryant Farm has many maturing apple trees, so look for those later this season along with other great produce from this vendor at the Statehouse Market.
