The Statehouse Market re-opened today for the 2013 season! With 12 food trucks and 10 produce vendors present, the street was packed with tents and food trucks, selling food and goods. The hungry crowds came out in force. Grandpa Jay’s Pork sold sizzling porkburgers, right next to the cool deliciousness of Nicey Treat‘s popsicles. Despite some off and on rain, the market was an overall success, for both vendors and customers!
I personally enjoyed Little Eataly‘s wonderful Italian food. I ordered the Tortellini Salad, which had “Ricotta Cheese Stuffed Tortellini with Roasted Red Peppers, Sun Dried Tomato, & Artichoke tossed in a Creamy Balsamic Basil Vinaigrette”, all superbly made into a wonderful salad that left me very satisfied.
Governor Mike Pence and First Lady Karen Pence stopped by, as well as Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann.
Most lunch time foods are around five dollars, a reasonable amount for the quality of food at the market. Be sure to stop by next Thursday, May 30, and pick up a great lunch and a healthy dinner.
