Statehouse Market 2020 canceled
posted by SPD Communications on July 2, 2020 in MarketDue to circumstances involving COVID-19 in Indiana, the Indiana State Personnel Department has made the difficult decision to cancel the Statehouse Market this season.
We’ve worked very hard all year to examine all of our options for the continuation of the event in light of the ongoing pandemic, and up until recently it appeared we were going to be able to move forward with our delayed July 9 start date. Unfortunately, we have made the determination that the best path forward is to cancel all 14 weeks of the event this season and begin preparations for a return in 2021.
The Statehouse Market, as a signature event of the state of Indiana’s Invest in Your Health program, is intended to provide state employees and members of the general public the opportunity to purchase healthy items, such as Hoosier-grown produce, and to highlight the many Indiana entrepreneurs who are utilizing their skills and talents to create one-of-a-kind foods, beverages, condiments, and so much more.
We hope our market-goers will continue to support these farmers and small businesses. You can see a list of our current roster here.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the Statehouse Market this year, and we look forward to seeing our fellow employees and market participants on Robert D. Orr Plaza in 2021.
